Call us

Just because I work at a place of peacefulness and calmness does not mean it is always easy to keep that kind of cool outside of my work.  Work is beautiful for the employees at The Pittsburgh Center for Complementary Health and Healing.  We are surrounded by wonderful aromatherapy, quietness, and happy clients as they leave. It is easy to be at peace here.  I have struggled this past month with positive thinking and a positive way of reacting to certain situations in my life outside of this easygoing workplace.  I write this blog as a reminder to myself as well as to others, that we are all human and bound to struggle with handling our emotions and dealing with the stresses in our lives. Acceptance that we will not handle everything that comes to us in a perfect manner can be tough, but there is a time where we have to pick ourselves up, dust off the negative thoughts and move forward.  Easier said than done, right?  I suppose we can start with practicing the power of positive thinking.  I was brought up with this insight by my father and it has carried me through some harder times in my life so far.  Here are some tips to start your practice...and the best to you!!!

*Make laughter a part of your everyday life.

*A sincere smile always feels good:)

*Help others.  Do this with sincerity and do not expect anything in return.  It makes a difference in how you will feel afterwards.

*If you are constantly being negative, seek help.  Maybe you need a therapist.

*Surround yourself by positive people.  The more negativity around you, the longer and harder it sticks.

*Keep a diary and notice when your negative emotions arise easier.  When do your positive emotions arise easier?

*Practice visualization recalling the better things in your life.

*Exercise
